On the heels of the release of her mixtape Time Flies (Pitchfork 7.1), dexter in the newsagent has announced a three-stop tour with support from Moses Ideka kicking off 2/14 in Dublin, Ireland, with general sale beginning at 10:00 AM local time on 12/16 and artist presale starting at 3:00 PM local time on 12/15. This announcement arrives after a fall of performances for Dexter, including her supporting slot for Blood Orange‘s Essex Honey Tour at London’s Alexandra Palace Theatre and Jim Legxacy on his sold-out UK run. The tour will be in support of her latest release Time Flies, a 12-track project that stands as Dexter’s most assured and complete work to date. The project ranges sonically – from the 2000s pop elements on “Eighteen” to the Flume-esque sounds of “Did You Try” to a Shawn Mendes homage on “Tonight” – while staying grounded in the smooth progressive alt-pop sound that she has become known for. The sole feature on the project arrives courtesy of Moses Ideka, a rising South London artist and close friend of Dexter whose debut EP Wind Songs arrived at the end of October. The Time Flies Tour will cap off a busy fall for Dexter, following the releases of “Eighteen”“With u”“I Told Ya”New York Times Song of the Week and Pitchfork 100 Best Songs of 2025 Winner “Special”and a guest feature on Jim Legxacy‘s critically acclaimed album black british music (2025) with “dexters phone call”.

Following the momentum of her 2022 breakout project Fortune Cookie, a six-track offering that solidified Dexter’s reputation as one of the UK’s most compelling young voices, Time Flies lands with a sharper edge and reflective tone. “Time Flies is my first full-length project – a mixtape that highlights the things that carried me through my grief journey. It explores how love, in all its forms, helped me navigate my grief. The title reflects how time itself became a healer and how at the end of the day, no matter how big or small, time will always pass,” she explains. Where Fortune Cookie saw Dexter navigating the push-pull of adolescence, her debut album explores a more complex space: as she both gains experience in releasing music and maturity in her years.

Earlier this year, Dexter performed at Fête de la Musique in Paris as part of a one-day pop-up experience alongside artists such as Kwes eMossesNatanya, and Sahn, in collaboration with Always Do What You Should Do. The performance marked a rare opportunity to see Dexter in an intimate live setting, further building anticipation for what’s next in her evolving artistry. Since the release of Fortune Cookie, featuring fan favourites like “Play Pretend”, “Something Real,” and “Vexed”, Dexter has been on a rapid ascent. From self-recording on her iPhone to selling out London’s Moth Club, supporting Fred Again and Denzel b, and being praised by tastemakers including BBC Radio 1, NME, The FADER, and The FaceDexter’s journey is as unfiltered and compelling as the music she creates. Her honesty and lo-fi sensibility have resonated widely, with songs that tackle growing pains, emotional burnout, and the bittersweet comedown of early adulthood. With “I told ya,” Dexter turns the page on a new era — unapologetic and true to the voice that’s always said exactly what it means.
