ELECTRIFYING MAREN MORRIS IS SCREAMING “CUT!” ON STUNNING NEW SINGLE FEATURING JULIA MICHAELS

GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Maren Morris unveils her eagerly anticipated new single “cut!” featuring Julia Michaels, now available via Columbia Records. “cut!” releases a wave of emotions as Maren’s inner monologue encapsulates the daily struggle for perfection. With a remarkable contribution from Julia coupled with Maren’s breathtaking vocals, relatable narrative, and candid honesty, it ascends as an anthem that is both personal and catchy. The song was written by Maren, Julia Michaels, Caroline Allin, and Joel Little, with Joel Little also handling the production.

Discussing the song, Maren reveals: “‘cut!’ is about maintaining my composure throughout the day, appearing well-rested, with not a hair out of place, not canceling any plans with friends because that’s how well I want you to think I’m coping. Maybe those things are all true, but at night I let the facade fall and allow myself to scream or crumble to release the pressure. It’s a cathartic release that doesn’t demand secrecy, but there are societal expectations to keep it together despite your emotions. This song grants me the freedom to fall apart.”

“cut!” is the inaugural song from Maren’s newly announced 5-song Intermission EP, slated for release on August 2. See the complete track list below. After concluding the first leg of her RSVP Redux Tour, Maren initiates a series of 7 performances with Maroon 5 tonight in Clarkston, MI. As the RSVP Redux resumes on June 30, fans in attendance are invited to submit their dream setlist for upcoming dates, and a new setlist will be curated each night based on these submissions. The RSVP Redux Tour acts as a revival and a reunion for the 2020 RSVP Tour and includes support from Betty Who, Allison Ponthier, Delacey, and Anna Graves on select dates. Maren will also make a series of appearances at summer festivals, including Sommo Festival, Bourbon & Beyond, and All Things Go Music Festival.
