Multi platinum, nine-time Latin Grammy-nominated Colombian artist Feid accepted the El Premio ASCAP Award for “Songwriter/Artist of the Year.” Feid has been honored with several El Premio ASCAP Awards, however this year marks his first win in a top category – being recognized for his outstanding songwriting on hit songs “Classy 101,” “Hey Mor,” “Niña Bonita,” “Normal,” “Yandel 150,” and “Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo.”

Feid has been a songwriter since the beginning of his career, writing over 200 songs and counting for many other artists. Also known as “FERXXO” by his fans and collaborators, Feid has managed to create his own style when composing, from the words he uses coming from his paisa roots to the melodies used and the versatility of his voice that effortlessly fuses with different genres but it’s not until now that he receives recognition by ASCAP.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) is a membership association of more than 975,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers, and represents some of the world’s most talented music creators. Founded and governed by songwriters and composers, ASCAP puts music creators first, advocating for their rights and the value of music on Capitol Hill, driving innovation that moves the industry forward, building community and providing the resources and support that creators need to succeed in their careers. Receiving an award from the association is a huge honor.

Feid accepts this incredible honor on the heels of announcing his headlining world tour FERXXOCALIPSIS kicking off this month in Sacramento, and also announced the Latin American leg of the tour, kicking off on August 20th in Mexico City and wrapping up in his home country of Colombia. Last December, Feid released his 10-track record, FERXXOCALIPSIS, a surprise album that includes his hit single “Luna,” which is now RIAA certified 4x platinum, debuted at #5 on Top Global Songs chart following release and is currently #14 on Spotify’s Global Charts. Watch the music video for “Luna” here and listen to the album here.

Feid recently brought incredible shows across Latin America, performing at the coveted Lollapalooza Chile and Argentina, Asunciónico in Paraguay and Estéreo Picnic in Colombia.
