NEW TRACK “FAISAL (ENVELOPS ME)” RELEASED TODAY
Fred again.. announces his brand new album ‘Actual Life 2 (February 2 – October 15 2021)’ – released next Friday, November 19th via again.. Records. Following on from his acclaimed debut album ‘Actual Life (April 14 – December 17 2020)’ earlier this year, his new release sees him build on the unique diary-esque approach he applies to making music. As the title suggests, the new album offers an insight into a 5 month period, stitching together vocal clips and found sounds to create a deeply autobiographical record that documents an extremely difficult period of his life. With his new body of work, we’re offered a snapshot of an artist dealing with the many complexities of grief – exploring how confiding in close friends and family have helped him heal wounds and ultimately realise the genuine sense of joy that can be found as the record draws to a close. Speaking about the album, Fred writes;
Further to the announcement of ‘Actual Life 2 (February 2 – October 15 2021)’ and following the release of recent singles “Billie (Loving Arms)” and “Hannah (The Sun)” today also sees the release of brand new single ‘Faisal (Envelops Me)’. Built from a sample from singer / poet FACESOUL the track zeroes in on the sample’s melancholic nature and uses warm synths and sparing beats to build to moving crescendo with Fred signaling a turning point for the record and indeed his journey, stating ‘I’m ready to feel’.
Continuing to expand upon and experiment with his live performance, earlier this week Fred again.. released a live session alongside Henry Wu (aka multi-instrumentalist Kamaal Williams). Filmed in September and also featuring drummer Corey Fonville, the half an hour session gives fans a chance to experience improvisations on the music found on the forthcoming album.
