Fred again.. Releases ‘USB002 REMIXES’ Album
You can listen to ‘USB002 Remixes’ HERE.
The record features 8 reworked tracks from the second era of Fred’s ever-evolving USB series, including recent single ‘OK OK (Hamdi remix)’.
Fred invited a group of artists to contribute remixes, including collaborators from his recent tour such as Skream & Benga, HAAi, Hamdi, Oppidan, and Lou Nour. The project also features producers connected to other USB releases, including KETTAMA and Lil Silva. Brazilian artist MC Dricka additionally appears on a newly reworked version of ‘Facilita’, contributing fresh vocals.
Last Friday, Fred brought the historic era to a close with his fourth and final show at Alexandra Palace and delivered an unexpected highlight – a surprise B2B set between Fred and Thomas Bangalter, marking Bangalter’s second live show in almost two decades. The night also continued with standout collaborations, including a rare live set from Kano, who performed ‘3 Wheel Ups’ and ‘P’s & Q’s’ alongside Ezra Collective.
Earlier in the week, Thursday’s penultimate show carved out a landmark moment for UK dubstep. Pioneers Skream & Benga, Coki and Mala shared the stage with heavyweights Flowdan, D Double E, JME and Duurty Goodz. The set was capped off by a rare return from La Roux, who delivered her seminal track ‘In For The Kill’ – the Skream rework.
Last September, Fred kicked off the new era of his acclaimed USB series, revealing he would be releasing ten songs and playing ten shows in ten cities around the world across ten weeks. Tracks including ‘you’re a star’ with Amyl and the Sniffers, ‘Talk of the Town’ with Sammy Virji & Reggie, and ‘Beto’s Horns’ with CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso & Ezra Collective were added to the ever-evolving album, with the ‘USB002’ vinyl arriving in December.
Fred’s USB album originally began in 2022, featuring tracks like ‘Baby Again’, ‘Rumble’ alongside Skrillex & Flowdan, ‘Jungle’, ‘leavemealone’ with Baby Keem and ‘stayinit’ with Lil Yachty, as well as remixes from Nia Archives, HAAi and Rico Nasty, before the first collection was released on vinyl as USB001 in 2024.
