Genesis GV70 Named Best Luxury & Compact SUV by Texas Auto Writers Association

The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) recognized Genesis in two award categories at its 2025 Texas Truck Rodeo, with the 2026 GV70 earning both best luxury SUV and best compact SUV honors. These accolades continue Genesis’ award-winning streak in Texas and reinforce the brand’s commitment to delivering a product lineup and experience tailored to the demands of customers in the Lone Star State.

The newly redesigned 2026 GV70 comes with two powertrain options: a 2.5L turbocharged inline four cylinder with all wheel drive capable of 300 horsepower[i], and an available 3.5L twin-turbo V6 with all wheel drive delivering 375 horsepower[i].

TAWA members tested vehicles on-road and off-road at the Texas Truck Rodeo, held annually to spotlight the best trucks and SUVs available to consumers. Vehicles were rated on a sliding scale across criteria including interior, exterior, value, performance and overall personal appeal. In both categories, the GV70 was selected ahead of other finalists earning top recognition from the judges. With these wins, the 2026 GV70 is eligible for the SUV of Texas honors that will be announced at the Houston Auto Show in January 2026.
