Meet AR!A: The Canadian DJ Rewriting Europe’s Underground Rules

Indo-Canadian DJ, music producer, audio engineer, and creative visionary—AR!A is a genre-bending force who refuses to play by the rules.
Born and raised in Canada to Punjabi immigrant parents, AR!A’s relationship with music began early. She started piano lessons at age seven, composed her first song by eleven, and was producing beats in FL Studio by fifteen. What followed was a lifelong devotion to sound: from building experimental tracks in her bedroom to recording with emerging artists in Los Angeles and electrifying underground dance floors in Berlin. “Music has given me the opportunity to express myself, meet kind people, and be the change I want to see in the world,” she says—a philosophy that permeates everything she creates.

Deeply rooted in the underground house and EDM scenes, AR!A has carved out a reputation as a hypnotic, high-energy performer whose sets are as uplifting as they are unforgettable. Her live presence is vibrant, magnetic, and driven by a desire to bring people together. Connection is at the heart of her artistry: she uses sound and movement to spark shared experiences that dissolve boundaries and elevate the mind. AR!A is currently crafting her debut EP, while teasing a growing roster of remixes—most notably her reimagining of Charli XCX’s “Romantic” and Rosalía’s “Berghain,” both gaining early buzz among fans and DJs alike.

Her latest single “Slowdown” is out now on all streaming platforms, offering a glimpse into the evolving sonic world she’s building. Looking ahead, AR!A will announce her 2026 tour dates in early February. She’s set to perform across North America, Asia, and Europe, with hopes of adding a few stops in South America as well. Bold, inventive, and unapologetically herself—AR!A is just getting started.
