HIT-BOY & SPANK NITTI JAMES SHARE “STUPIDER” VIDEO
On the heels of a newly-announced partnership with HarbourView and the release of his recently-released collab album Yeast Talkin’ with longtime collaborator Spank Nitti James, GRAMMY Award-winning artist and producer Hit-Boy has just shared a new video for the project’s third track, “STUPIDER” – out now. Filmed entirely in Miami, the new video marks the seventh visual offering from Hit-Boy since the release of Yeast Talkin’ just two weeks ago, following “Doing My Best” (feat. The Alchemist) from GOLDFISH, “Only Up From Here” (feat. Stacy Barthe), “YEAST TALKIN'”, “DO YOU COPY” (feat. Hood Troophy Bino), “THANKSGIVING” (feat. Doley Bernays) and “SCALE BACK” (feat. Terrace Martin).
Built on a foundation of Inland Empire grit and Los Angeles polish, Yeast Talkin’ evokes the natural chemistry of two artists who have spent years sharpening each other’s sound. The album also arrives bolstered with a stacked, eclectic lineup of features that includes everyone from Flint’s premiere shit-talker Rio Da Yung Og and Detroit’s BabyTron to the elusive wordsmith Mach-Hommy and GRAMMY-nominated jazz musician Terrace Martin, to West Coast staples Lefty Gunplay, 03 Greedo, AZ Chike and Big Sad 1900. Building off of the gritty West Coast energy and chemistry of Hit-Boy and Spank Nitti James from recent singles like “Start Dissin'” (1M+ Streams) with BabyTron and AZ Chike and “N.T.A.B.” with Lefty Gunplay, Yeast Talkin’ underscores both Hit-Boy’s ranging production chops and continuation of his growth as an emcee himself. Where Hit-Boy’s prolific production credits have pushed the sound of modern rap into new territory over the past decade, Spank Nitti James’ unfiltered style acts as the perfect counterweight, resulting in a body of work that is as heavy-handed as it is forward-thinking. With Yeast Talkin’, whose cover art is designed by prominent graffiti artist @shirtkingphade, the duo aims to plant a new flag in the region’s lineage, weaving together braggadocios energy with modern West Coast swagger, grounding the project in Inland Empire identity while pushing far beyond its borders. The new release of Yeast Talkin’ also caps off a commanding 2025 run for Hit-Boy, who kicked things off in July with “What’s the Deal?” (1.5M+ Streams) after gaining independence for the first time in his career by officially exiting an 18-year publishing deal. After dropping a number of singles, Hit-Boy linked up with fellow GRAMMY-nominated artist / producer The Alchemist for a collab album GOLDFISH, for which they have also hosted screenings for its accompanying short film directed by Abteen Bagheri and starring both Hit-Boy and The Alchemist themselves, as well as Danny Trejo and Rory Culkin among others.
Arriving amidst a wave of independence and momentum for Hit-Boy, Yeast Talkin’ marks the latest chapter in his post-publishing-deal renaissance, where his newfound creative freedom has sparked a non-stop run of releases. Beyond the music, Hit-Boy and Spank Nitti James returned to their community last weekend for a Thanksgiving Food Drive, distributing turkeys, canned goods, and other essentials across the Inl pire through Hit-Boy‘s new foundation The Next Hits –– highlighted in the new music video “Only Up From Here” (feat. Stacy Barthe). After gaining independence with the help of his close friend and collaborator Jay-Z, who helped him exit the 18-year publishing deal in July, Hit-Boy has been inspired by an influx of creativity and freedom, releasing singles like the aforementioned “What’s the Deal?”, the Cheaters-inspired “Eat Couch” (feat. Spank Nitti James), “Wheel of Fortune” (feat. Peezy), the posse cut “Start Dissin'” (feat. BabyTron, AZ Chike & Spank Nitti James) and “N.T.AB.” (feat. Lefty Gunplay & Spank Nitti James). On top of his recent production credits on Jay Electronica and Westside Gunn‘s “Best Wishes”, TiaCorine‘s “Backyard” (feat. JID), as well as Blueface‘s new single “6”6′” (feat. Zoe Osama, Spank Nitti James, OC Chris & Supparay), Hit-Boy will also serve as Executive Producer for streamer N3ON‘s upcoming album, for which they created a 2-day writing camp and experiential event that featured appearances from Sexxy Red, Diplo, Iggy Azalea, Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, and generated over 1 Billion views across all platforms in the first 24 hours. With the next chapter of his career in high gear, Hit-Boy is embracing his influential role as an all-around creative and artist in modern-day Hip-Hop while hitting a hard reset and amplifying his creative freedom, on which Hit-Boy shares, “I’ve never felt more empowered as an artist… after 20 years in the game, I feel like I’m just getting started”.
