Hyundai Canada reports October sales with IONIQ 5 leading in pure electrified sales
Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. reported total October sales of 9,581 units, a year-over-year increase of 15.0 per cent. The KONA (1,896 units), VENUE (1,669 units), and TUCSON (1,650 units) were October’s three best-selling Hyundai models, respectively. October was a strong month for the 2022 WCOTY winner IONIQ 5 (564 units), a YoY increase of 261.5%. The 2023 WCOTY winner, IONIQ 6 also had a strong showing (358 units).
Hyundai’s electrified fleet continued to show positive momentum in October with 3,176 units sold, representing about a third (33.1 per cent) of the total October sales volume. This includes pure electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. The IONIQ 5 led in battery electric sales (564 units), followed by the KONA Electric (397) and IONIQ 6 (358). The plug-in hybrid vehicle variants of TUCSON and SANTA FE both posted year-over-year gains.
