Joey Valence & Brae have dropped brand new track ‘CAN’T STOP NOW’. It’s the fast-rising duo’s first new material to follow acclaimed debut album PUNK TACTICS, and a whirlwind of activity for the alternative band: the DIY project charted in the top 10 of US Spotify’s most-streamed new albums that week, with JV&B also named Future Artist of the Month at BBC Radio 1 and performing at the legendary Maida Vale. Fresh from a riotous UK tour – including a sold-out date at The Garage, and opening for Limp Bizkit at Gunnersbury Park – Joey Valence and Brae’s PUNK TACTICS ALBUM TOUR kicks off in January around the US.

‘CAN’T STOP NOW’ is the fittingly-unstoppable sound of Joey Valence and Brae messing around, and again striking gold. Shifting pace from clattering breakbeat to hard-hitting hip-hop and warped soul, ‘CAN’T STOP NOW’ – say the boys – “is a song about being confident and independent. We make a lot of jabs and references, it’s a very brag-heavy track but doesn’t take itself seriously: nobody’s ever too cool for school. We sample a song that was directly used in an old SpongeBob episode for a pretty deep-cut reference, having tried for ages to find use for it and finally come up with an idea. ‘CAN’T STOP NOW’ is the first song after the album and it continues the idea that we’re just getting started.”

A project born in a dorm room, released independently and now tearing up stages & airwaves worldwide, Joey Valence and Brae are a breath of fresh air. The larger-than-life duo officially began recording and releasing music together less than 2 years ago, with an infectious energy and multi-media approach. Their world draws on everything from the riotous rap of Beastie Boys and hardcore (Rage Against The Machine) to UK DnB and punk-rave (The Prodigy) – all punctuated by personality, humour, and deeply accomplished musicianship. Yet there is more to Joey Valence and Brae than making mischief: theirs is a completely modern, guerilla approach spanning the world of skating, gaming, BMX, street art and DIY culture as it’s been adopted by a new generation of misfits online. With over 100 million streams, 2 million monthly listeners and the sense, too, of an act who ‘CAN’T STOP NOW’, watch out for more from Joey Valence and Brae to follow soon.
