Joyner Lucas Joins Forces with Conway the Machine For New Single “Sticks & Stones”
Grammy nominated hip-hop artist Joyner Lucas released his new single, “Sticks & Stones” feat. Conway The Machine.
As part of the announcement, Joyner Lucas also revealed that he will be dropping his long-awaited, sophomore studio album, Not Now I’m Busy, on March 22. Additionally, the New England native unveiled brand-new artwork that will serve as the official album cover.
With “Sticks & Stones,” Joyner delivers introspective bars about dealing with fame and the hate that comes with the territory. He goes to rap about betrayal from his own loved ones, dropping lyrics like “I’ve seen my own family stab my back, I should’ve known. They say sticks and stones will break your bones, I’m sticks and stones.”
In the song, Joyner Lucas even hints that he considered walking away from the rap game altogether but concludes that he “rather cry inside a yacht than an 88 DeVille.” Meanwhile, Conway holds his own over the soulful beat, rapping about overcoming tragedy in the streets to triumph as an artist.

“Sticks & Stones” marks Joyner’s first release of 2024 and comes after he previously released “24 Hours to Live” in the fall of 2023. The song detailed Joyner’s anticipated reality and the series of events that would occur if he learned he only had one day left to live.
He also dropped standout songs like “Seventeen,” “Broski,” “Cut U Off (feat. YoungBoy Never Broke Again),” and “What’s That?,” which are slated to appear on his first album in 4 years. Joyner’s last album ADHD, debuted in the Top-10 of the Billboard 200, earned RIAA gold certification, sparked a much-needed conversation about mental health and established a new template for success that independent artists could follow.
