KELLY PRESCOTT BRINGS FANS TO “CLOUD 9” TODAY

Third-generation singer-songwriter and bona fide country music blueblood Kelly Prescott is bringing fans to Cloud 9 with the release of her major label debut EP. The five tracks on Cloud 9 run the gamut from ‘70s soul to modern country to a bit of pop, representing just a fraction of Prescott’s musical scope. The album is heralded by the pleading ballad “Common Ground,” cowritten with Nashville-based Sadie Campbell and Halifax’s Dave Sampson. In the leadup to this release, Prescott has been bringing her one-of-a-kind voice straight to the people as she’s crossed Canada on tour with Canadian country music superstar Dallas Smith. The dates have brought her from coast to coast, and have seen her perform in front of thousands of fans. Prescott celebrated the release of Cloud 9 tonight from the iconic Budweiser Stage in Toronto. Of the album, Prescott says “Cloud 9 was escapism for me. I was feeling so down, as were many of my peers when we realized that we were the least essential workers on the planet. We all kind of lost our identities overnight. But even though I was down, I didn’t want to listen to sad songs. I wanted something that made me feel good. That’s where this EP came from, insisting that I feel good and dance around and see what cloud nine felt like.”
