KRIS R CRAFTS GRITTY SOUNDTRACK FOR LOVE, LOSS, AND LIFE ON THE EDGE WITH NEW EP: UNA VALIJA EN SENTIMIENTO

Rising Colombian star and Trap de Medallo pioneer Kris R. shares his long-awaited EP, Una Valija En Sentimiento —a deeply emotional and unfiltered 10-track project, now available on all digital streaming platforms.

Una Valija En Sentimiento is a raw portrait of what a “valija” represents: Colombian slang for a young man shaped by the streets, by love that never fully arrives, and decisions that often feel chosen for him. Each track holds a buried emotion, an open wound, and tales of fleeting romances that, while short-lived, make him feel alive — if only for a moment. 

Leading the project is the single “Muñeca de Urba,” a fiery collaboration with Puerto Rican sensation Dei V. Over a smooth trap beat, the two trade verses inspired by a love interest. It’s a raw and emotional blend of Colombia and Puerto Rico’s new wave of urban talent.

Opening track “INTRO” sets the tone with ambient city sounds, radio static, and a tense phone call with a girlfriend on the edge. The noise fades into “Otros Planes,” where Kris R., joined by Almighty and Hades66, pleads for a lost love to return over a sensual trap beat. In “Pa Que Te Miento,” R&B and trap weave together under soft hi-hats as Kris R confesses with disarming honesty. The mood lightens in “Cositas,” the Blessd assist single with a synth-rich blend of G-funk and 90s R&B that grooves with nostalgia and swagger.

“Amber y Wizkha” finds Kris R chasing a volatile love over a provocative beat, mirroring the wild energy of the celebrity couple it references. “Más Chimba” shifts gears with a smooth, dancehall-inspired rhythm and a standout feature from Ryan Castro.

“U.V.E.S” unveils a different side of Kris R., blending piano balladry and acoustic guitar with subtle trap textures. He leans into vulnerability, showing a side of himself that feels distant from the streets but no less real. “La Del Proceso” offers a brief but essential stop in the journey. The EP closes with “Electrolibonbon,” a bonus track that turns up the BPM and flexes Kris R.’s rapid-fire lyricism over a heavy beat. It’s his most aggressive moment on the project and a final jolt of adrenaline to end the set.

With the release of Una Valija En Sentimiento, Kris R is also bringing the project to life with a circuit of shows across Colombia, hitting Medellín, Cali, and Bogotá. Born Kristian Rangel Betancur in New York City and raised in Medellín, Kris R. is widely credited as the creator of Trap de Medallo – a sound forged through raw lyricism, street-rooted perspective, and emotional clarity. He began releasing music at 15 and gained early buzz through collaborations with Rauw Alejandro, Ñengo Flow, and Jowell & Randy. With viral tracks like “Sople,”“Las Piponas,” and “TRAPPHONE,” plus breakout records EL EXORCISTA and POLOS OPUESTOS, he’s earned three RIAA-certified singles and currently charts in 17 countries.

In 2024, Kris R. joined Ryan Castro and Blessd for a major U.S. tour and completed a 25-date run through Colombia in 2025.
