LIBIANCA SHARES STUNNING VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “JAH” — WINS “VIEWER’S CHOICE: BEST NEW INTERNATIONAL ACT” AWARD & PERFORMS “PEOPLE” AT THE 2023 BET AWARDS!

After winning “Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act” and performing “People” at this year’s BET Awards, rising star Libianca shares the visual for her latest single “Jah” via 5K Records/Sony Music U.K./RCA Records. Directed by Meeks & Frost (FLO, Pa Salieu, Odeal), the visual sees Libianca deliver a stunning performance, embracing her independence and all the freedom that it brings. Shot on Birchfield Farm, the video follows a young woman on a journey of growth and self-discovery, breaking away from old habits and environments – and by the end of it she finds herself spiritually transformed. In addition to all this success and new music, Libianca’s global hit single “People” is now RIAA-certified Gold in the U.S. and she’s currently supporting Alicia Keys’ U.S. tour commencing this past week.

Libianca on the meaning of her single “Jah”: “In my life, I’ve met and gotten close to a lot of people who are not here with me today (figuratively). Unfortunately, sometimes things don’t work out how you would have imagined, and sometimes you need to walk away from someone for the betterment of yourself.”

This latest single is the official follow-up to her global breakout-hit “People,” which has spent eight weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart (currently #93, peak #80) and 23 weeks on Billboard’s Global 200 chart. In addition, the single is also now certified Platinum in the UK as well. “Jah” lands in the wake of a monumental start to 2023 for the Cameroonian born-Minnesota-based singer. A further display of the distinctive sound that has quickly won her worldwide acclaim, “Jah” is a soul-baring offering that unites her Gospel and Afrobeats influences. Her captivating tone and strikingly relatable songwriting transcend across the track, detailing the process of choosing yourself and all the freedom it brings when your faith is unwavering: “I have all that I need, in my Jah, Jah, Jah…”, she sings.

December 2022 would change Libianca’s life forever. Her mighty introduction to the world with the release of “People” was unexpected to say the least, but nonetheless has seen her reach ground-breaking heights. The song shed light on Libianca’s experience with rare mood disorder Cyclothymia, addressing the all too familiar feelings of loneliness and isolation which has resulted in a tight knit fanbase deeply appreciative of her vulnerability. As of now, “People” is the highest charting African single in UK chart history after peaking at #2 on the Official Singles Chart (it joins the remix of Fireboy DML’s ‘Peru’ featuring Ed Sheeran) and spending over eight weeks at #1 in the UK Afrobeats Chart. Following collaborations with Ayra Starr, Omah Lay, Cian Ducrot, Becky G and recently featuring JAE5’s “I Wish,” Libianca has amassed over 400M+ global streams and 130M+ YouTube views.

Growing up with a love of Afrobeats, Makossa, Gospel and R&B, it was destined that Libianca would become the powerhouse that she is today.
