LIGHTHOUSE CANADA’S WALK OF FAME & SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES CELEBRATE 55TH ANNIVERSARY OF ONE FINE MORNING WITH TRIUMPHANT HOMECOMING AT TORONTO’S THE CONCERT HALL

Lighthouse

Pioneering Canadian band Lighthouse will return to the stage where their legendary journey began for a special one-night-only performance at The Concert Hall on June 27, 2026.

This highly anticipated performance marks a full-circle moment, celebrating the Anniversary Edition of One Fine Morning in the very room where it all began. The evening’s second set will feature a complete live reproduction of the landmark album, enhanced by live strings to authentically recreate the original recording.

“Duke Ellington introduced Lighthouse at our very first performance on May 14, 1969 at Toronto’s Rock Pile, now known as The Concert Hall,” remembers Paul Hoffert. “We’ll be celebrating 56 years on the same stage where it all began with the new release of our Anniversary Edition of One Fine Morning, performing the entire album with live strings – just the way it was back in the day. We whipped the audience into paroxysms of ecstasy then and plan to do the same in 2026!”

Formed in Toronto in 1969, Lighthouse broke new ground in popular music by fusing a rock rhythm section with a jazz horn section and a classical string ensemble, creating a bold, genre-defying sound that set them apart from their contemporaries. Co-founders Skip Prokop and Paul Hoffert conceived the idea during a single conversation on a flight home from New York. Soon after, the band made history performing at Carnegie Hall, with Duke Ellington introducing them at their very first show held at The Concert Hall, then known as the Rock Pile.

Lighthouse’s rise was meteoric. Elton John opened for the band in Philadelphia, and their hit single “One Fine Morning” climbed to #2 in Canada and #24 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their album Lighthouse Live! became the first Canadian album to achieve platinum status, and the group earned a total of four JUNO Awards, including for Best Canadian Group three consecutive years running. They famously declined an invitation to Woodstock, only to captivate audiences at the Isle of Wight Festival.

After several reunions over the years, Lighthouse officially regrouped in 1990 and has continued to bring their signature, high-energy sound to audiences across generations. Their legacy has been cemented with inductions into both the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame.

The One Fine Morning Anniversary Edition pairs a fully remastered version of the original landmark album featuring standout tracks like “One Fine Morning,” “Hats Off (To The Stranger),” and “Sweet Lullabye”, with a second disc of rare and archival material. This bonus collection includes an unreleased track, a vintage 1970 CBC live performance, and a series of original demo recordings, including early vocal takes by Skip Prokop, offering fans a deeper look into the band’s creative process and the evolution of these classic songs.

Co-founder Paul Hoffert leads the current all-star lineup alongside original 1970 member Russ Little, joined by Dan Clancy, Doug Moore, Marc Ganetakos, Chris Howells, Simon Wallis, Michael Stuart, Peter Kadar, and Paul DeLong.
