Lil Durk’s Protege Booka600 turns up the melodies in “Bison”

OTF’s Booka600‘s voice echos pain scorched melodies that describe a generation. There’s a heft to Booka’s music–an emotional intensity that can only come from a person who has been through hell and emerged victorious. Triumphantly embracing his life as a rising rapper, the Chicago native recently dropped “Bison,” his new video.

Taping Philly’s young production phenom, Dougie On The Beat (Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Lil Durk, YFN Lucci, G Herbo +more) Booka600 flexes his melodic muscles on this soaring drill ballad, steeling his nerves towards his uncertain future and attempting to shake off the weight of his tumultuous past. Filmed on a soundstage with an all-white background, the “Bison” video unites Booka600 with his Only The Family brethren and fellow members of the 600 Crew, including his mentor Lil Durk and fellow soldier King Von, with scenes of their obvious camaraderie alternating with majestic footage of the titular animal (“My life on the road real, might see a bison, sings Booka on the hook). “Bison” is the closing track on Word To LA, Booka’s recent project.
