LIVE STREAM INVITE: BEN KUNDER on FACEBOOK / INSTAGRAM / YOUTUBE – TODAY @ 8PM EST
Toronto-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ben Kunder (pronounced like under with a hard k) will perform a LIVE one hour long concert today, Tuesday, March 24 at 8pm Eastern time. We’d love to have you join if you’re available, either through Facebook, Instagram or YouTube. It’s ahead of his new album Searching For The Stranger anticipated on May 29, 2020 via Comino Music.
Kunder has unveiled the sweeping and redolent lead single and video “Berlin”. Written about the songwriter’s first-ever tour in Germany, “Berlin” was inspired by the feelings Kunder had being of Jewish heritage touring through Germany for the first time.
Known for expertly navigating that rarefied space between elegiac folk and accessible pop and crafting beautifully articulate deeply personal ballads, Searching For The Stranger reveals Kunder’s most honest and authentic work to date. Co-produced with Aaron Goldstein at Baldwin Street Sound, as well as with Chris Stringer at Union Sound Company, the album features a marquee of illustrious guests, including singer Carleigh Aikins, drummer Loel Campbell (Wintersleep), and keyboardist Anthony Carone (Arkells).
Following Kunder’s 2018 universally celebrated sophomore album Better Human, the 10 original new songs gathered on Searching For The Stranger neatly expand on his ability to soundtrack both the ordinary and the extraordinary in luminous detail and see Kunder boldly exploring the outer limits of his creativity. The tracks reflect a human — alternately and collectively an acclaimed musician, father of two sons, world traveller, cautious optimist — fully in control of his narrative and confident enough to let it roll.
