An intimate night at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles was unforgettable—a night filled with love and an ode to R&B during Mario’s Nothing But Us Tour. He performed nostalgic hits alongside songs from his new album, Mood Swings. The talented Trevor Jackson opened the show, performing singles from his recent album I Love You, Goodbye (The Greatest Breakout of All Time). Trevor’s emotions from heartbreak were delivered in every song, including his hit “Friend of a Friend,” as he continued to serenade the crowd with his vocals and exceptional guitar skills. He set the tone for the night, bringing both energy and love.

When the curtains rolled back and Mario emerged, the packed crowd erupted with deafening screams. The R&B emperor showcased why he is one of the best vocalists of his generation, with captivating vocals and commanding stage presence. Mario serenaded the women, throwing roses into the crowd, and brought out three lucky ladies from the audience during “Keep Going.” He commanded the stage through each song, from throwback classics to today’s hits.
Timeless fan favorites had fans singing at the top of their lungs, from the intro of “Crying Out for Me” to “How Do I Breathe.” His ability to sing a cappella and sound just as flawless as he did in the early 2000s is impeccable and speaks to his craft. This was especially evident during his show-stopping burlesque sequence, where he performed “Closer” alongside his incredible dancers. When in L.A., it’s only right to bring out good friends, and Mario did just that by performing their single “Friends” with Ty Dolla $ign. Their energy was unmatched and a testament to true musicianship.

Captivating hearts since the 2000s, Mario took fans on a nostalgic journey with chart-topping hits like “Just a Friend” and Turning Point favorite “How Could You,” with the audience not missing a beat. He gave fans a night they wouldn’t forget, delivering a range of hits spanning decades—from breakup anthems to heartfelt love ballads. Mario continues to leave his mark as one of the greats of R&B. To cap off an amazing intimate show, he sent the crowd into an uproar, ending the night with “Let Me Love You”.
