Milltek Corp sharpens Chevrolet’s ferocious C8 Corvette Stingray

Milltek Corp, the US operation of Milltek Sport, is dialing up the intensity of Chevrolet’s C8 Corvette Stingray with a premium performance exhaust range designed to extract even more excitement from the new 6.2-litre V8 sports car.

Available to order now through the company’s worldwide dealer network, the new premium exhaust system promises to sharpen Chevrolet’s Corvette Stingray – enhancing the dramatic V8 soundtrack and offering a weight saving of up to 39lbs over the stock item.

Milltek Corp says its Corvette C8 range also promises added visual drama at the Stingray’s tail, equipped with quad 4-inch rear exhaust tips which perfectly complement the model’s aggressive rear diffuser.

As with many of the company’s premium systems, customers can individualize their exhaust tip finishes, with a choice of polished stainless, Cerakote satin black, brushed titanium, burnt/blue titanium, and carbon fibre. The cat-back system starts from $3,471 with either Cerakote satin black tips or with polished stainless steel tips.

The Chevrolet C8 Stingray exhaust is the first system to be developed jointly between Milltek Corp and Milltek Sport. Design and testing duties have been shared between the company’s flagship UK Advanced Manufacturing Centre and Milltek Corp’s recently opened US headquarters, situated in Alcoa, Tennessee.

Final testing was carried out at the Tennessee facility with the aid of the Tennessee Drivers’ Club. Milltek Corp then captured the sight and sound of its development car in action at the Tail of the Dragon, the automotive enthusiast hotspot being only a short drive from the company’s HQ.

The Milltek Corp C8 system is suitable for Coupe and Convertible Corvette models specified with or without the factory sports exhaust option, also remaining compatible with the factory valve control system as a direct plug and play replacement.

Like all the company’s systems, the C8 range has been designed for maximum durability and is fully TIG welded throughout, manufactured from anti-magnetic T304L ‘aircraft grade’ stainless steel with 3-inch wall tubing. The use of mandrel bending and an increase in overall bore ensures better gas flow, allowing ultimate performance without compromising mid-range torque.
