NJ Native Riovaz Shares Video For “Tell Me Your Fears”

Constantly evolving, 18-year-old artist, Riovaz shares the video for his  irresistible new single “Tell Me Your Fears”. “This song captures my constant detachment from reality and the sudden reappearance of normalcy,” he says of the frenetic house track. “I had just watched Donnie Darko before making this song and video, so that film was the last piece of this puzzle.” In the visual, the New Jersey native explores an abandoned mall. Eventually, he becomes trapped in the back of a truck — before realizing he had the power to free himself from all along.

While Donnie Darko hinged on Jake Gyllenhaal hallucinating a demonic rabbit, “Tell Me Your fears” finds Riovaz hypnotized by another person. “Saw the look in her eyes, she came here to dance,” he sings over cascading beats. “She looks so enchanting, I can’t deny.” As the song progresses, Riovas is taunted by the what-ifs. “You think I’ll tell you I’m sorry when it’s caused by you,” he sings on the instantly catchy chorus.

“Tell Me Your Fears” pushes forward Riovaz’s provocative storytelling, following on from July’s electronic-boosted single “you’re a parasite” which debuted No. 2 on Soundcloud New & Hot chartIt’s part of an ongoing evolution that extends back to his bold 2020 breakthrough “Prom Night,” which permeated TikTok, eclipsed over 107 million streams, and is charting on the Hot Rock/Alt Song Billboard Chart. He expanded his platform by selling out a headline show in New York and supporting glaive on seven US dates of his America Is a Place That Exists tour this fall.
