OCTAVIO CUADRAS THE PIONEER OF “CORRIDOS FELICES”

In the past few weeks, OCTAVIO CUADRAS, has become a viral sensation on TikTok, thanks to his interesting music proposal that takes a fresh perspective on traditional corridos, capturing the attention of artists and followers alike with the creation of his “Corridos Felices.”

On his social network, the artist shared the first notes of what has now become “Corridos Felices.” Born of out if his desire to create joyful music, this new subgenre of the regional Mexican genre aims to convey through its lyric’s happiness and positive energy, joined by melodies that invite you to move your body by using the trombone, bass guitar, and trumpets as its main instruments. 

At only 23 years old, OCTAVIO CUADRAS shares a fresh perspective with sounds and combinations of genres that appeal to the audience. An example of this was last week’s release of his “corrido feliz” with the group MARCA REGISTRADA, titled “Bling Bling.” This song, created organically on his official TikTok account, went viral thanks to the people who liked the song’s catchy rhythm and happy melody. Only three days after the official release, the single was trending holding the #3 spot on YouTube in Mexico.

OCTAVIO CUADRAS is a singer and composer originally from Navolato, Sinaloa (he currently lives in the town “La Cofradia”). At 12 years of age, he began delving into music working as staff member for the groups of the region, and afterwards, began playing different instruments such as tambora and tarolas. His greatest inspiration has and always will be his maternal grandfather… his tata Atanacio Cuadras.

In October, Octavio released the song “Salí de las Calles,” with which he participated in the album ‘BÉLICO INDIE Vol.1,’ a project that arose as a type of refuge for new talents aiming to join young promising artists of the “corridos belicos” genre. On December 22, a new song will release titled “Belicontento”, in collaboration with the talented EL PADRINITO TOYS.
