ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER ANNOUNCES 2026 EUROPEAN DATES

Oneohtrix Point Never, New Music, Music, Entertainment News, Singer, Songwriter, Elliott Elder, Warp Records

Following the release of Tranquilizer last Friday on Warp Records, Oneohtrix Point Never shares a new album visualiser created by filmmaker Elliott Elder, alongside the announcement of a series of European tour dates for April 2026. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday 28th November at 10am GMT.

Elder’s visualiser builds on the album’s palette of digital erosion and memory glitch, creating a shifting, atmospheric environment that expands the emotional and textural undercurrents of Tranquilizer. His approach mirrors the record’s drift between clarity and distortion, giving the album a visual language that feels both tactile and dislocated.

Tranquilizer emerged after Daniel Lopatin discovered that a wide archive of 1990s sample CDs had briefly disappeared from the Internet Archive. That fleeting vanishing act and subsequent recovery became the conceptual root of the project. Working with these rescued sonic fragments, Lopatin employed custom software and real-time manipulations to create a record that hovers between calm and overload, structure and malfunction.

The result is one of his most process-driven and emotionally open releases—fifteen tracks tracing ambient dissolution, jagged percussion and hyper-detailed microstructures. The cover art, a painting by Abner Hershberger, echoes this tension: an abstract image that reveals ghostly traces of landscapes beneath its surface.

This new era also arrives with a fresh stage presentation. For the Tranquilizer live shows, Oneohtrix Point Never brings the album to the stage with a new visual world developed in collaboration with multidisciplinary artist Freeka Tet, whose singular aesthetic pushes the interplay between performance, technology, and digital surrealism. Tet’s contribution builds on a long creative dialogue between the two, amplifying the album’s sonic architecture in a live setting. With his upcoming London show at the Barbican, Oneohtrix Point Never will be leading the announcement of NTS 15, a series of anniversary events from the music platform in April 2026.

Whether as musician, composer or producer, Oneohtrix Point Never has blurred roles from the outset—from his debut Betrayed in the Octagon to his score for Marty Supreme. Across eleven acclaimed albums, his influence has reshaped contemporary electronic music while also crossing into film, where his soundtracks include numerous projects, most notably his ongoing collaboration with the Safdie Brothers on Good Time (which earned him Best Soundtrack at Cannes) and Uncut Gems. His collaborative reach spans James Blake, Charli XCX, Iggy Pop, ANOHNI, David Byrne, Nine Inch Nails and The Weeknd, reflecting the scope and impact of his sonic imprint.
