PETER CAT RECORDING CO. UNLEASH NEW SONG + VIDEO FROM UPCOMING ALBUM
MASSIVE 77-DATE GOOD LUCK BETA TOUR ‘24 INCLUDING DATES WITH KHRUANGBIN STARTING THIS SUMMER
BETA OUT AUGUST 9TH ON MUDDY WATER
The dynamic and versatile India-based group, Peter Cat Recording Co., is set to release a new album, BETA. Their latest single, “Suddenly”, is a heartfelt tribute to vocalist Suryakant’s mother and a farewell note to his late father. The emotionally charged video features Suryakant’s mother hearing the song for the first time. The band performs the song on a boat, journeying down a river in Goa, and eventually inviting Suryakant’s mother to join them, a poignant tribute to both his parents. The band reveals that “Suddenly” was recorded in a furniture showroom under the midnight rain in Goa, reminding us that life is a river. This song follows their previously released single “People Never Change” and an album trailer featuring elephants feasting on an edible album announcement.
Peter Cat Recording Co. is more than just a band; it’s a self-contained music and art powerhouse. With three talented songwriters, Suryakant, Dhruv, and Kartik, they are creating a legacy that resonates with the spirit of iconic groups like The Velvet Underground and The Beatles. Their new album, BETA, set to release on August 9th on Muddy Water, marks the next chapter in their journey. BETA encapsulates the members’ personal growth since their last album, portraying life experiences. With this third installment, the group’s family circle has expanded through marriage and childbirth. BETA, produced by Suryakant Sawhney, Kartik Pillai, Dhruv Bhola, and Peter Cat Recording Co., was one of five potential album titles. The final choice was made by drummer Karan Singh’s 6-month-old son, who picked BETA, a term of endearment for “child” in Hindi, from a hat. With each album, Peter Cat Recording Co.’s music evolves, and with BETA, they are honing their unique vision of 21st-century pop music.

Tickets for their headline shows are now available. As part of a grand 77-date tour, which includes a mix of Khruangbin dates throughout the year, their headline shows will kick off on August 23rd in Boise, ID, and will cover cities like Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, before heading overseas for more shows, culminating with a six-date tour in India, ending on December 28th in Kolkata.
PCRC comprises Suryakant Sawhney on vocals and guitars, Karan Singh on drums, Dhruv Bhola on bass and samples, Rohit Gupta on keys, horns and woodwind, and Kartik Sundareshan on guitars, horns, and woodwind.
