P!nk’s Homecoming Summer Carnival Tour: A Night of Magic at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field

Written and Captured By | Kasey Canter

This past weekend Philadelphia was given the experience of P!NK’s Summer Carnival Tour, her hometown show. In a stadium usually covered in green – there was a lot of pink; from the lights outside to the attire of the audience. Along with The Script, Sheryl Crow, and Kid Cut Up the crowd was dancing all night!

The night started out with DJ Kid Cut Up keeping the crowd moving from the moment they walked to their seats and between each performance. Irelands own, The Script, came out with such a fun energy, you truly could not look away! Playing hits like, “Breakeven”, and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, even the audience members not as familiar with them could still dance and sing along ! Last to hit the stage before P!NK was Sheryl Crow. The crowd was absolutely electric and excited to see her perform. From all singing along to, “If It Makes You Happy”, to beaming along to, “Soak Up the Sun”, the audience was so captivated by her energy she brought to the show.

It was an absolute treat to experience P!NK perform at Lincoln Financial Field this past weekend. Opening the set with an energy filled video to get the crowd ready, to literally entering from the very top of the stage – this show had the entire room captivated from the get go! Opening the show with “Get the Party Started,” to playing so many hits like “Who Knew”, “ Try”, “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” and closing out with “So What” – the crowd was on their feet from front to back.

Being able to witness all of her aerial tricks on stage, to seeing how much fun the dancers & band seemed to be having – it felt like a crew that had just so much love for what they do. The show truly felt like an intimate experience despite the size of the crowd. To have P!NK’s family there (along with both of her children making an appearance on stage), to one of her old guidance counselors from school attending, to even having the treat of the Philadelphia Choir come onstage to perform “I Am Here,” it all just felt so welcoming to be a part of.

The crowd was full of endless smiling faces, of all ages, all singing every word back. The Summer Carnival made the room dance, cry and everything in between. The best surprise of the night was the weather holding out the entire show, and rain starting the second the show concluded. An absolute treat to welcome P!NK back home and to be a part of this entire experience.
