TYRESE, DAPHNE WAYANSAND TERRACE MARTIN

Multi-talented Compton rapper and Grammy-nominated producer Problem debuts his new album Coffee & Kush Vol 2 via Diamond Lane Music Group/Rostrum Records. The prolific 11-track project includes artist features from Jack Harlow, Jay Rock, Snoop Dogg, Freddie Gibbs, Tyrese, Spoon, and Daphne Wayans while production credits include contributions from Problem, Don Cannon, Mike & Keys and Terrace Martin.
Problem explains, “This album is a continuation of Vol 1. If the original was the morning, volume 2 is the afternoon. The vibe, inspiration and process of compiling all these thoughts and energies into the Coffee & Kush series are completely different from what I’ve ever done before. The content of the music is definitely still growing. And your growth should make your past nervous.”
Along with the album release, Problem introduces a reflective black and white Mike Marasco directed music video for his hard-hitting West Coast track “Florence.” Problem notes, “Florence sonically is what Los Angeles feels like. The Mexican style horns mixed with them Compton ass 808’s. Lyrically, it’s a reflection of what I’ve persevered through and the game that was earned through that experience.”
Lead single “Nothin” featuring Jack Harlow and Jay Rock is a smooth, feel-good track with “classic West Coast bounce” (Brooklyn Vegan) that is a “welcome addition to the prolific Problem’s quality and extensive catalog” (The Source). Meanwhile, fan favorite “Don’t Be Mad At Me” Remix featuring Snoop Dogg and Freddie Gibbs delivered a “certified banger” (Rap Caviar) and hilarious music video that was touted by Stereogum, Hypebeast, Brooklyn Vegan, HotNewHipHop, Revolt, and many others.
In addition the first volume of the Coffee & Kush trilogy released earlier this year, the Compton businessman has also branched out with his own coffee line Green Hour Coffee. Problem’s new coffee brand and his specialty CBD infused coffee are exclusively available at Harun’s Coffee Shop located in Leimert Park with delivery available within the Los Angeles region. Additionally, he launched 50million film company where he wrote, directed and starred in his first short film A Compton Story. The 20-minute visual reveals a hilarious and often precarious day in the life of the Compton native where he risks life and limb in hopes that one of his good deeds goes unpunished. The film is narrated by comedian and actor Mike Epps and features special guests Snoop Dogg, comedian Jackie Long, RJ Cycler and Slink Johnson. A Compton Story is currently available on Problem’s IGTV.
