Rising Opium Duo Homixide Gang Release Their Long Awaited Album Homixide Lifestyle 2
Homixide Lifestyle 2, the long-awaited new album from Atlanta duo, Homixide Gang. The follow-up to their 2022 debut mixtape, the project sees Meechie and Beno! return to the chaotic, menacing rage-rap sound that first put them on the map, only now, they’re sharper, louder, and more locked in than ever. After months of teasing the album during explosive sets at Rolling Loud California and Summer Smash Festival in Chicago, the wait is finally over.
The 25-track album includes standout collaborations with their Opium labelmates, including Ken Carson on “PB&J,” and Destroy Lonely on “Shopping Bags.” It also includes features from Homixide Mali and R5 Homixide. Production comes from a stacked lineup including Pi’erre Bourne, who produced both the high-octane anthem “Free Agents,” which has already racked up over 1 million views, and “VICE CITY,” along with Wakeup F1LTHY, Maaly Raw, TLY Jacob, Section 8, ATL Jacob, DJ Moon, and others across the project. Another standout is the fiery single “5G,” which samples Smashing Pumpkins’ 1993 classic “Cherub Rock” into a distorted rush of searing guitars, escalating tension, and a heavy drop delivered with unrelenting intensity. While still rooted in the rage-rap chaos they’ve become known for, Homixide Lifestyle 2 shows clear sonic growth—drawing more heavily from Southern hip-hop and signaling a darker, more refined evolution of their sound.
Last spring, the dynamic rap duo dropped their highly anticipated project, I5U5WE5. Praised by Rolling Loud for their “electrifying sound” and hailed by Revolver Magazine as “the sound of the future,” the project features “R50,” “HI-VOLTAGE”, and a collaboration with fellow Atlanta artist Lil Yachty on “SIDE EFFExT”. Prior to the release of I5U5WE5, Homixide Gang performed a SOLD-OUT run of five shows in China, commanding 1,500-capacity venues. As the pioneering Opium artists to grace this market, their presence marked a historic milestone in their artistic journey. The buzz from these performances quickly spread online, amplifying their presence and solidifying their status as artists to watch.
They then unleashed their “insane, unfiltered energy” on the 22-date North American leg of their tour, delivering “a performance that was both electrifying and chaotic.” 2024 concluded with standout festival appearances, including ComplexCon and Rolling Loud Miami. Now that Homixide Lifestyle 2 has arrived, they’re next in line to take the reins.
