RYAN CASTRO DROPS “CHUCU CHUCU” WITH JUANES & SOG CONTINUES TRADITION OF RELEASING HOLIDAY ANTHEMS

Colombian music sensation Ryan Castro ushers in the holiday season with Chucu Chucu,” a collaboration with Latin music legend JUANES and hitmaker SOG. This festive track blends the sounds of Antioquia with Ryan’s signature urban beats, continuing his tradition of releasing parranda-style anthems.

“Chucu Chucu” is a vibrant homage to the holiday traditions of Antioquia, fusing nostalgia with modern urban rhythms. In this release, Castro dons his alter ego, ‘Richy,’ a character inspired by his native Medellín’s rich cultural tapestry. This year, Richy is joined by cousin Toño, portrayed by JUANES, to create a festive anthem celebrating family, music, and heritage. With SOG’s masterful production, the powerhouses deliver a song set to become a holiday favorite.

Castro’s holiday anthems have become a beloved tradition, with past hits likeMujeriego (2021), El Pan de Estefanía and La Garrafa (2022), and last year with Richy El Pichón and El Bote (2023). These songs have established Castro as a master of creating music that embodies the joy and nostalgia of the Colombian holiday season

“Working with Juanes on ‘Chucu Chucu’ is a dream come true. His music has been a part of my life since I was a kid, and now to create something together that celebrates our Christmas roots and traditions is special. ¡Que viva Colombia!” – Ryan Castro

“In 1967 Pedro Jairo Garcés released his album Playa Brisa y Mar, a classic of the chucuchucu paisa sound. I love that so many years later we can re-dance this chucuchucu. I thank Ryan Castro for the invitation and the interest in reviving this Christmas tradition and this genre from our roots” – JUANES

This release caps a landmark year for Ryan Castro, marked by his ¡Ay Bendito Ghetto! U.S. tour, co-headlined with Blessd. The tour spanned 16 cities, sold out 13 shows, and recently announced its extension to Latin America and Spain. More info HERE.

Earlier in 2024, Ryan’s debut studio album, ‘El Cantante del Ghetto’ debuted as the #1 Best-Selling Latin Music album during its release week. His viral anthem “El Ritmo Que Nos Une,” the official song of Colombia’s national soccer team, broke streaming records in Colombia, further cementing his place as a global Latin music star.
