SAMARA CYN SHARES NEW SINGLE “WHAT WILL THEY SAY”
One of the most captivating new musical voices today, Samara Cyn shares her searing new track “what will they say” today as she wraps up an explosive year. Produced by close collaborator Billy Ray Schlag (Rosalía, Masego), the track sees Samara flourishing as one of today’s premiere lyricists. She presents a moment of deep introspection as she takes a stance against the world’s issues that plague our day and age as a Gen-Z, inviting listeners to join her on her journey of growth, over her signature sound the draws from the soul and weight of a time that came before her, but seemingly was meant for her.
Samara caps off the colossal year that has solidified the young artist as one of music’s new heavyweights, accomplishing milestones rarely done so early in music careers. Most recently, Samara made her festival debut at Camp Flog Gnaw, delivering one of the night’s most electrifying sets, as she brought her scintillating catalog to life in front of thousands alongside guests Smino and Sherwyn. She also made her late night TV debut on The Daily Show performing her breakout track “hardheaded” from her critically acclaimed backroads EP, showcasing her strength as a performer and creative force. Backroads sees Samara shine with a sound that is brazen and boundless, not limiting herself to any one genre, she soars over a neo soul and hip hop fusion that leans indie pop with her powerful spoken word textures. It features production by D’Mile (Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak), Two Fresh, Malik Ninety Five (Playboi Carti, Doechii) and collaborations with Smino and Sherwyn. Amongst it, she completed her first ever national US tour supporting Smino on his Kountry Kousins Tour who personally selected Samara to support him as an admirer of the young artist which led to a genuine friendship between the two artists.
Throughout the year, Samara also stacked up a growing list of key co-signs ranging from Denzel Washington who crowned her one of his favorite new artists across various national TV show appearances as well as Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Doechii, Nas, Doja Cat, Rapsody, Alicia Keys, Isaiah Rashad, Teddy Swims and more.
