SCY JIMM SHARES NEW VIDEO FOR “A-Z”

Quality Control’s SCY Jimm has just shared a new video for “A-Z”, a standout track off of his recently-released mixtape Highly Favored. After putting his candid street raps and detailed storytelling on display throughout the year while battling through real-life adversity, SCY Jimm made his definitive statement with the release of his second project of the year, Highly Favored, which includes features from fellow Floridian BLP KOSHER and Gloss Up. Backed by a string of popular singles like “Members In”, “Selling Slabs” and “Ain’t Original” (feat. BLP KOSHER), Highly Favored serves as his second project with QC, and finds SCY Jimm using his sincere lyricism to detail personal trials and tribulations, showcasing the depths of his artistry. In the process, he also never shies away from delivering imaginative flexes that showcase his playful bar work and the embrace of his come-up. On “A-Z”, SCY Jimm creatively works through the alphabet as he attaches a personal sentiment or reflection to each letter in a stream-of-consciousness verse – “A for all them long nights I stayed up tryna make a play / B for bad times, I got my shit together and made a way“, he raps over the anthemic strings and knocking drumline behind him.

Ever since being donned with his QC pendant chainfrom QC label boss Pee earlier this year, SCY Jimmhas been on an unparalleled hot streak. Leading into the recent release of Highly Favored, SCY Jimmhad been dropping a healthy balance of flex-heavy tracks and reflective singles, like the pensive two-pack “In Too Deep” / “Wrecked the Cat”, which are both responses to real-life experiences – after he was the victim of a targeted shooting in Daytona, and crashed his newly gifted “Hellcat” from Pee. Despite not being from a major city in Florida, SCY Jimm has been working to set himself apart from his contemporaries through his candid ruminations and tight-knit bar work. After SCY Jimm’s breakthrough year in 2022 with the release of his heartfelt mixtape ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, on which he successfully united his state by collaborating with artists from different areas all across Florida to come together artistically on the project, he signed to QC, and kicked off this year with the release of his debut project with the label, Trench Baby. Laser-focused on his musical career while battling through adversity, SCY Jimm is using Highly Favored to continue carving out a lane for himself as a fundamental artist of his state’s flourishing Hip-Hop scene in the process.
