RECENTLY MADE HIS COLORS DEBUT WITH “SCENE 1” PERFORMANCE
Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Sebastian Mikael officially celebrates the release of his new EP, PHILEO available at all DSPs and streaming services now. PHILEO arrives just a day after Mikael officially made his Colors debut with the performance of standout track “Scene 1”.
The project was announced last month with the release of his first single from the project, “Overgold”. The was record met with praise as UPROXX included it in their highlight of the week’s best new R&B, claiming it to be the perfect kick off towards PHILEO. “Overgold” served as the follow-up to Mikael’s “Exit” (nearly 1M views) went on to peak at #13 and #38 on Billboard’s Adult R&B and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts, respectively and was most recently featured on an episode of Issa Rae’s “Rap Shit” on HBO.
PHILEO is a Greek term which describes an emotional connection and form of love most often shown within close friendships. “I wanted to talk about love not in a romantic aspect or in a cliche way, but more as love being a foundation for who we are and as a lifestyle. When we move in love, we’re more powerful because God is Love,” says Mikael.
Previous projects from Mikael, I C U U C ME PT I & PT II were fueled by the undeniable earworm and fan favorite, “Time,” which now boasts over 8M views on the companion visual alone. “Time” was immediately met with applause as Billboard described the video as a “sultry visual” that is “completely inescapable for three minutes.”
Mikael was crowned as a Musician To Watch by Coveteur and an On The Verge Artist by iHeartRadio while also earning praise as a “contemporary R&B singer has a retro yet refreshing sound” (Okayplayer) who also “shakes and soothes your soul” (Rolling Out). He was also seen on the cover of PREME Magazine.
