Sexyy Red and Summer Walker Might Just Take Your Man

Sexyy Red keeps her hot streak rolling into 2024 with “I Might,” her new music video featuring her close friend Summer Walker. Produced by Ben Billions, Jacob Kasher & Phil Phever, “I Might” is an ideal anti-Valentine’s anthem, as Sexyy and Summer ditch their main partners for an undercover liaison. Directed by Des Gray, the new video contrasts Sexyy’s conflicts with her main man with the joyful new fling, as she drapes herself in an oversized red dress and bonds with Summer on a motel balcony. “I Might” is a highlight from Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe), Sexyy’s latest project, which came out in December.

The video for “I Might” arrives shortly after the viral video for Drake’s “Rich Baby Daddy” ft. Sexyy Red & SZA, which became Sexyy’s highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 late last year (#11 peak). Shot in grainy home movie style, the video for the Miami bass-influenced banger dramatizes what might have happened as Sexyy gave birth to her second child earlier this month. The video generated over 4 million views in its first 48 hours, and 10 million total. Two weeks after its release, “Rich Baby Daddy” remains at #7 on YouTube’s Trending chart.

Fueled by Hood Hottest Princess and its singles, Sexyy’s improbable, yet inevitable rise was one of the biggest stories in hip-hop in 2023. A relentless barrage of twerkable anthems, Hood’s Hottest Princess builds upon Sexyy’s brash and unapologetic persona. Sexyy’s viral rise quickly fomented success on the touring front. After a viral performance at Rolling Loud Miami, Sexyy Red earned an invitation to open on tour for her biggest fan, Drake, during his “It’s All A Blur Tour” with 21 Savage. Sexyy’s first headlining tour, the “Hood Hottest Princess Tour,” sold out many dates within minutes of its initial onsale, including a 3,000-cap show in NYC and a 4,850-cap show in Chicago. The tour criss-crossed the U.S. for dozens of dates–including 24 sold out dates–including a massive sold out hometown show at the 8,000-capacity Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis.
