SHAKIRA, UNDISPUTED STAR DURING THE WORLD CUP: REACHES THE GLOBAL TOP 5 WITH ‘DAI DAI’

Shakira, Entertainment News, Singer, Songwriter, Reggaeton, Latin Pop, Pop Music, Pop Artist, World Cup, Billboard

North America has been the center of the world’s attention for the past month. Canada, the United States, and Mexico are hosting the biggest World Cup of all time. 48 national teams, representing every corner of the globe, are demonstrating the power of football and culture to unite us despite our differences. And in every stadium, on televisions and in homes, in headphones and playlists around the world… one song: ‘Dai Dai’.

Shakira and Burna Boy’s hit song, the official anthem of the 2026 World Cup, has replicated the success of ‘Waka Waka’ in 2010. It’s currently in the Top 5 global songs chart and the Top 5 in Spain, according to Spotify charts. Furthermore, it has become the fourth official World Cup song in history to enter Billboard’s Hot 100, and the second to bear the mark of ‘Loba.’

Shakira’s global and charitable spirit perfectly aligns with the spirit of the World Cup. Indeed, in recent hours, we’ve already heard a preview of the Spanish version of “Dai Dai,” which is sure to make the song with Burna Boy one of the most listened-to songs of the year.

‘Dai Dai,’ in addition to Burna Boy‘s collaboration, features a very special collaboration that many have overlooked: Ed Sheeran co-wrote the song with Shakira. A gesture that reinforces the friendship and admiration between the British singer and the Colombian artist.

This bond will be evident in the arena shows taking place this month in the United States as part of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, where Shakira will be joined by Ed Sheeran and Zara Larsson as special guests. We’ll be able to hear songs like ‘Zoo,’ whose spectacular choreography with giant tigers has gone viral in recent days.

And what about Europe? Shakira’s arrival in the Old Continent is getting closer thanks to her spectacular EsLatina residency, which will arrive in Madrid in early autumn, coinciding with the grand celebration of Hispanic Heritage Day. And, although she’s focused on the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour in North America, she hasn’t forgotten her Spanish fans.

In recent days, Shakira has begun to reveal surprises about her concerts in Spain. The first is that the song ‘Sale el Sol’ will be exclusive to her residency at Macondo Park. It’s a song with a great emotional weight for the Colombian singer. Written for her friend Gustavo Cerati, former member of the band Soda Stereo, as a tribute to the band’s song ‘Cae el Sol,’ Shakira premiered the song live in 2010, precisely in Madrid.

2026 is the year of the World Cup, the year of the biggest shows in the biggest stadiums, but La Loba (The Wolf) has managed to compete at the same level. Shakira becomes the undisputed star and aims for number 1 with ‘Dai Dai.’ Shakira is engaged in a virtuous competition with the World Cup to make her tour the biggest show of the year worldwide and the headline act in the most important stadiums in North America this summer.
