On the remix, Rudimental take the original track – which is teeming with Tayo Sound’s customary smooth and laid-back aesthetics – and stamp their unmistakable drum and bass stylings onto it. Invigorating and energising, it’s certain to stretch out summer that little bit longer.

The original ‘Hide and Seek’ was co-written by Blake Slatkin (Lil Nas X, Kid Laroi, Lizzo), Tayo Sound, and Rudimental. The trio combine to produce a vibrant and uplifting track that has already become a fan-favourite. Rudimental’s hooky and uplifting production is rounded off by Tayo Sound’s smooth vocals which cushions the track to create a warm tone.

Speaking about the making of ‘Hide and Seek’, Tayo said; “This was started in the second session I had when I was out working in LA and it was quite overwhelming being in such a different environment to Reading or London. I started playing these two chords on a ukulele/guitar hybrid that Blake (Slatkin) had and the track was super chill to start off with but Blake mentioned he was working with Vance Joy the next day and I immediately thought ‘what if we switch up the tempo and make it more indie like riptide?’. From then on it was clear we had the foundations of something special. Rudimental then jumped on board, added the finishing touches that the track needed and then suggested putting it out together. It’s an honour to have them on a record that has become so special to me.”

Tayo’s first headline UK tour is hitting cities across the UK this September, starting in Bristol, hitting a sold out The Grace in London on Sept 21st and then Manchester and Nottingham before finishing in Leeds. For full show details please see below.

Since amassing millions of streams across platforms with the ‘Runaway EP’ and tracks including  ‘Cold Feet’‘Gone’‘Someone New’ and ‘Heartbreaker’, Tayo has received critical acclaim across the board from the likes of i-D, Dork, NME, DIY, Clash and MTVBBC Radio 2’s Jo Wiley and BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and Jack Saunders, (with ‘Someone New’ receiving BBC Introducing ‘Track of the Week’). All of which really put Tayo on the map during a period when many new artists struggled. His debut EP covered early experiences with relationships and delved into feelings of heartbreak that everyone can relate to. That coupled with his natural songwriting talent made this collection of tracks a bold first statement from such a new artist.

Working with the likes of Blake Slatkin (Lil Nas X, Kid Laroi), Josh Scarbrow (Arlo Parks, Etta Marcus)Easyfun (Charli XCX)Rob Milton (Holly Humberstone, Easy Life, Maisie Peters) and Courage (Ray BLK, Stormzy) as well as playing an incredible set in his hometown at Reading Festival alongside a sold out live show last year at London’s Jazz Cafe, Tayo Sound has big things to come!
