TEMS RELEASES NEW TRACK “NOT AN ANGEL”
GRAMMY-Award winning, Oscar nominated, Lagos, Nigeria-based singer, songwriter, and producer Tems releases new track “Not An Angel” via Since ‘93/RCA Records. The song is written entirely by Tems and co-produced by Tems and Sarz.
When asked about the track she stated, “This song is about knowing your worth and moving on in life from anything holding you back”.
The new track arrives off of the heels of her most recent release “Me & U,” notably marking her first solo release in two years. Since its release, “Me & U” has amassed over 45 million streams and spent more than 7 weeks in the top 5 of the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart. Tems also released a stunning acoustic performance of “Me & U” alongside Guilty Beatz.
Tems has had an outstanding year as she won her first GRAMMY Award for her work on Future’s chart-topping, triple platinum single “Wait for U,” and received a nomination for her feature on Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance.’ She was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, for her work on “Lift Me Up,” the lead single off the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. Earlier this year, her chart-topping hit single “Free Mind,” appearing on her‘For Broken Ears’ EP released in 2020, became the longest leading #1 song by a lead female artist on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and is now RIAA certified platinum. “Free Mind” also went #1 on the Billboard R&B Radio and Hip Hop/R&B Radio charts, over two years after its release. Additionally, “Higher,” the hit-single appearing on Tems’ latest EP ‘If Orange Was a Place,’ is now RIAA certified Gold.
