Verlo Releases Debut EP ‘Générique’

Verlo emerges as the next essential voice in a lineage of feminine icons, from Françoise Hardy to Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser and Kate Bush. Formerly known as Louise Verneuil, the French singer-songwriter creates a rich sonic landscape across ‘Générique’ that effortlessly brings French chanson, indie rock and electronic textures together.

Infused with the spirit of iconic auteurs and fashion photography, her debut EP is a vivid world fueled by sensuality and cinematic flair. Watch the music video for the single ‘Blue Mirage’ HERE. The five tracks, recorded at La Frette Studios in Paris, are brought to life by an ensemble of acclaimed Anglo-American musicians directed by Mercury Prize-winning producer James Ford alongside Alex Turner and Loren Humphrey.

Verlo has collaborated with state51 to produce three special, limited edition physical versions of ‘Générique’, all handmade at the state51 atelier in East London:

10” Vinyl EP (10” Gatefold) – A limited edition of 300, this 10” black vinyl is presented in a gatefold sleeve with linen laminate spot varnish design and completed with a card lyric sheet insert.

10” Vinyl EP (state51 Atelier Folio Edition) – Strictly limited to 50 copies, this 10” transparent lathe cut vinyl disc is presented in a black leather cruciform sleeve with zip closure and pink linen lining. It also includes a screenprinted lyric sheet, hand-printed Japanese tissue wrap, bespoke perfume created by Verlo, embroidered black lace edge handkerchief and handwritten note.

Handbag EP (state51 Atelier 51st Edition) – A one of one exclusive art piece, this unique edition was made to be a cross between a handbag and a vintage record carrying case. The 10” transparent lathe cut vinyl disc is accompanied by a screenprinted lyric sheet, handmade cigarette box containing bespoke perfume, both created by Verlo, embroidered black lace edge handkerchief and handwritten note.
