Wavves/Cloud Nothings and Ultra Q at The Masquerade in Atlanta

The last time Wavves came to Atlanta was for their King of the Beach 10 year anniversary tour last year in which they brought the noise. With both Cloud Nothing and Wavves on tour, this was well overdue. Ultra Q is also in for the ride as all three bands compliment each other on this heavy hitting tour.

Starting the night off, Ultra Q hit the stage. Coming out of Oakland CA, Ultra Q brings alternative rock mixed with the sound of post punk to your ears. The band is led by Jakob Armstrong who is the youngest son of Green Day vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong. They performed their album debut My Guardian Angel in which I advise everyone to check out if you’re new to this amazingly talented band.

Cloud Nothings has just celebrated the 10th year anniversary of one of their most known albums Attack on Memory. The band played some of their classics like No Future/No Past and Sentiment. Cloud Nothings brought out the most in the crowd. Fans were singing loudly, dancing and mosh pits were formed. They ended their set with Wasted Day which is such a great ender to jam out to.

If you’re not familiar with Wavves, they are an alternative indie rock band from San Diego. Nine is God and Leave were two songs featured in Grand Theft Auto V so they might sound familiar to you. Wavves started with their song Way Too Much and then proceeded to play Idiot from their King of the Beach album. Their sound is raw and loud with straight forward lyrics. They performed a crowd favorite, Demons to Lean on which had everyone screaming and moshing too. This tour is almost over so grab your tickets if you can. You don’t want to miss out on these three amazing bands.
