Pop soul newcomer Will Brown releases new single ‘Scars and Glory’. It is the next track to be taken from his debut EP ‘Welcome To Brownsville’ out on April 17th.

The track is a modern Motown-inspired track that blends classic soul with a contemporary pop edge. Driven by Will’s rich vocals it is a rousing, rhythm-fueled celebration of turning past traumas into personal growth. From the first beat, ‘Scars and Glory’ makes it impossible not to move along to its infectious groove, channelling the spirit of old school soul while still firmly rooted in the present.

Speaking of the track, Will cites Jackie Wilson’s R&B classic ‘Higher and Higher’ as an inspiration and says “This song is a reminder that the scars you have from past hurts and traumas are what build who you are today. It’s about celebrating and respecting those scars, because now you’ve turned them into your armour”.

With each release, Will continues to build momentum,Will’s most recent offering ‘Golden’ was added straight to the BBC Radio 2 playlist upon release. A soulful, uplifting anthem about love’s ability to ease pain and insecurity, the track marked a defining moment for the Kansas-born, London-based artist. The track has also been played on Sunday Brunch and saw Will perform it on BBC’s Sunday Morning Live.

Although a relative newcomer to the pop space, Will has already had 4 Top Ten UK Pop club hits; radio support across Europe in France, Italy and Spain; a string of sold out live dates and he also performed at the French Euro Village as part of Eurovision 2025. If that wasn’t enough, he is also set to perform ‘Better Man’ on the longest running music TV show in France, Taratata.

Will’s upcoming project ‘Welcome To Brownsville’ was created with producer Ash Howes (Ellie Goulding, James Arthur) and takes listeners on a clear emotional journey, from heartbreak and reflection to healing and growth.

Speaking about the EP, Will said: “Brownsville imagines a space where vulnerability is met without judgement and growth is encouraged. I always tell people Brownsville imagines a world led by love, truly inclusive, open and grounded in respect for every human story.”

Raised singing gospel music as a preacher’s son in Kansas, Will’s journey has taken him from church choirs to London, where he has found his voice as a singer songwriter focused on connection, inclusivity and shared human experience. Welcome To Brownsville captures that evolution, presenting a world led by empathy and emotional openness.
