WU LYF Announce London Residency and MIF Performance
Following a slew of cryptic messages scattered across their hometown of Manchester, weeks of speculation (and disbelief) from their cult fanbase, WU LYF’s reformation was finally confirmed with the release of a brand new single, ‘A New Life Is Coming’—officially ending their 13-year hiatus. The announcement was accompanied by news of the band’s long-awaited return to the live circuit, with multiple headline shows and festival appearances set to take place around the world.
All of this news was initially announced through WORLDUNITE.ORG, which hosts the relaunch of the Lucifer Youth Foundation (the band’s long standing fan club). On the platform fans can stream the ‘A New Life Is Coming’ alongside the band’s landmark debut album ‘Go Tell Fire to the Mountain‘, as well as gain access to regular journaling from the band and exclusive discounted merchandise.
The first shows came in the form of a three night residency at Salford’s Kings Arms. For those lucky enough to secure a ticket, it offered a rare chance to witness both new material and beloved early tracks in an intimate setting—a powerful reminder of the unrelenting energy and emotional intensity of WU LYF’s live performance.
Following their return in Salford, WU LYF today announce a London residency that spans three nights at The Horse Hospital from May 21st – 23rd.
Tickets for the residency are available through a balloted fan pre-sale that runs this Thursday from 11.11am, for those that have RSVP’d through the band’s website: WORLDUNITE.ORG/RSVPLDN. A small number of additional tickets will be available through general sale on Friday at 11.11am. Due to the small venue size and high demand, tickets will be limited to two per person.
For those that missed out on the Salford shows, the band have also announced a larger scale in-the-round headline performance at this year’s Manchester International Festival, taking place on 18th July at Aviva Studios. Tickets can be purchased here.
