XG RELEASES NEW SINGLE “MILLION PLACES” AND WRAPS FIRST WORLD TOUR
Hip-hop/R&B girl group XG marked a major milestone on May 14 with the release of their new single “MILLION PLACES” and the final show of their first world tour, “XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL’,” held at the iconic Tokyo Dome. Performing in front of a sold-out crowd of 50,000 fans, the group delivered the first-ever live performance of “MILLION PLACES,” a heartfelt track reflecting on their international journey and connection with fans across the globe.
Launched in May 2024, the tour spanned 47 performances in 35 cities across 18 countries, drawing more than 400,000 concertgoers worldwide. Most shows sold out, showcasing XG’s explosive global appeal. This past April, the group also captivated U.S. audiences with their debut at Coachella, performing over two weekends and trending at #2 on X. Their shows garnered high praise from both domestic and international media outlets, and their triumphant homecoming at Tokyo Dome sold out immediately upon general ticket release.
The night opened with an electrifying performance of “HESONOO + X-GENE” from their debut mini-album NEW DNA, with the group donning striking red outfits. Fans roared as XG delivered high-impact choreography on “SHINOBI”—first unveiled at Coachella—and a powerful rendition of “HOWLING,” the lead track from their second mini-album.

Highlights of the set included “GRL GVNG,” which made history as the first Japanese artist to top Billboard’s “Hot Trending Songs Powered by Twitter”—performed with signature chair choreography. The debut live performance of their gaming collaboration “UNDEFEATED” (with FPS game VALORANT) was met with thunderous cheers.
Uplifting anthems like “TGIF” and “IYKYK” ignited a sense of unity across the crowd, while emotionally resonant tracks such as “Tippy Toes,” “SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT,” and “IN THE RAIN” (with umbrella staging) displayed XG’s versatility and technical precision. A major highlight was the surprise live debut of “XG MOVE #1”—the group’s first-ever content released pre-debut—eliciting the loudest applause of the night.
Solo and unit stages showcased XG’s multidimensional talent:
- “SHOW YOU CAN” featured an intense rap relay by MAYA and COCONA
- “Chill Bill” ([XG TAPE #1]) saw JURIN and HARVEY bring swagger to the stage
- “Peaches” ([XG VOX #1]) highlighted the vocal depth of CHISA, HINATA, and JURIA
The crowd stayed energized through high-tempo hits like “SHOOTING STAR,” viral all-rap track “WOKE UP,” and the soaring “IS THIS LOVE,” currently trending as the theme of Shiseido’s Anessa global campaign.
During the encore, XG premiered “MILLION PLACES.” The emotional track, written as a tribute to their journey with fans (known as ALPHAZ), created a poignant moment of reflection and celebration. After performing winter ballad “WINTER WITHOUT YOU” and fan favorite “MASCARA,” the group shared heartfelt messages with the audience.

The two-hour show closed with “LEFT RIGHT,” the historic track that became the first by a Japanese girl group to enter the U.S. Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay Chart, remaining on the chart for 13 weeks, the longest run ever by an Asian girl group.
In just three years since their debut, XG has reached remarkable milestones: completing a world tour, performing at Coachella, and headlining Tokyo Dome. As they continue to break boundaries and defy expectations, XG stands poised for even greater heights.
