ZEP RELEASES NEW SINGLE & MUSIC VIDEO “FIGURE IT OUT”

Dutch artist and producer ZEP has officially released his latest single, “FIGURE IT OUT”, out now via PULSE Records, alongside an accompanying music video. The new release marks the third installment in ZEP’s current run of singles, following the self-acceptance anthem “NOBODY,” which has amassed over 6.5M streams, and his explosive follow-up “DON’T BREAK,” which has taken on a life of its own within the breakdancing community on social media, with fans frequently uploading videos of themselves dancing to the track. The momentum surrounding the singles also includes ZEP’s live rendition of “DON’T BREAK” on 66GREENE and his recent feature in Apple’s Creator Studio global campaign, further cementing his reputation for delivering boundary-pushing, genre-blurring production.

“We used to have it all figured out, now it’s just noise, distance, and trying to make sense of something that doesn’t feel right anymore… It’s that feeling of speeding through life with someone you’re tied to, knowing you’re drifting off-course but not knowing how to stop. This song is about being stuck in something that’s supposed to feel like love or family, but doesn’t anymore. It’s that pressure to stay, to figure it out, even when it’s slowly breaking you,” says ZEP.

“FIGURE IT OUT” unfolds around a live bass performance by ZEP himself, settling into a fast paced groove as his textured vocals evoke the spirit of early-2000s alternative rock. Layers of distortion and gritty production gradually build tension around the track’s hazy atmosphere, creating a sense of unease that simmers beneath the surface. Through the noise, the song moves toward a striking moment of clarity when ZEP delivers the line “we gotta figure it out,” cutting cleanly through the distortion. The moment offers a sharp contrast to the club-music-rooted energy of his previous singles while highlighting his versatility as an artist willing to experiment across genres, all while maintaining the raw intensity that defines ZEP’s sound. Directed by ZEP and Hannah Devries, the accompanying video captures ZEP’s larger-than-life persona as he cruises around town in a monster truck while bystanders look on in disbelief before singing along to the track.

Dutch artist and producer ZEP is breaking rules, bending genres, and paving his own lane in modern music. The son of Bazz Barnasconi, frontman of Dutch alternative rock band Vankatoen, ZEP grew up surrounded by live music and developed an early passion for drums before studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Rooted in the skate, fashion, hip-hop, and electronic communities, his work channels an authentic, boundary-pushing energy that thrives both in his recordings and immersive 360-audio live shows. Keeping the rebellious spirit of rock, hip-hop, and punk alive, ZEP continues to emerge as a true artist’s artist with a sound entirely his own.
