Fidlar rocks the roof off the Gothic in Denver, CO

On Friday October 26th, Fidlar came to the Gothic Theatre in Englewood, CO. The venue is one of the smaller ones in the Denver area, but still has a welcoming atmosphere. Going into the show I was expecting a completely different show than what I had predicted.
Southern California’s The Side Eyes was up first. The lighting was dark, and the band members emerged one by one with high energy and jumping around on stage. The lead singer came out last and was dressed in a punk-rock outfit. They started louder than expected, with a punk-rock grunge type of sound. It made the crowd ready for the rest of the set. The singer was constantly dancing around stage and the crowd was moshing and getting riled up.

Dilly Dally was up next and with dark lights, the band emerged from backstage and had a completely different style of music than the opener. The Toronto based band brought a high production quality with a mixture of textural tones. They played some of their newer songs off their upcoming album titled Heaven including “Sorry Ur Mad,” and “Bad Biology.” The members played with precision and ease as they had mellowed out the crowd during their set.

As the night was coming to an end, Fidlar was about to come up next and end the night with a bang. The stage was empty and filled with old tube styled TV’s that were lit up. The crowd started chanting “Fidlar,” and “I drink cheep beer, so what, f**k you,” which are lyrics to their song “Cheep Beer.” The Californian band emerged, and the crowd was riled up again. With a 14 song setlist, they played “Alcohol” first. The lights were flashing as the set continued with hit songs such as “40oz. on Repeat,” “West Coast,” and “Cheep Beer.” I was personally excited to hear them perform “40oz. on Repeat,” as it was one of my favorite songs by the band. The crowd was constantly singing along, dancing, and crowd-surfing the entire night. When Fidlar finished their last song “Cheep Beer,” they left stage and the crowd was waiting for the encore song. A few moments go by and they came back on stage and concluded the night with “Cocaine.”
The entire show was incredible, with a mix of different genre music styles throughout the night, making it a night to remember.
