aespa releases solo tracks from “SYNK : aeXIS LINE” Tour

Global K-pop powerhouse aespa is rounding out a killer year by releasing solo tracks they have written and performed on their current “SYNK : aeXIS LINE” Tour. From pop rock to breezy R&B and hip-hop dance, the release showcases a more mature side to KARINA, GISELLE, WINTER and NINGNING’s individual musicality.
WINTER’s solo ‘BLUE’ is a guitar-driven track with a compelling chorus that recalls the singer-songwriterly vibes of 90s alt-pop artists. The confessional lyrics, co-written by WINTER, conveys a desperate determination to push forward even in moments of emotional exhaustion. “No point in walking around it, if you wanna get out, you gotta go through”, she sings.
NINGNING’s quirky solo ‘Ketchup and Lemonade’ is a laid-back R&B track that delicately unravels the emotional conflict of wanting to forget but being unable to let go after a breakup. Co-written by NINGNING, the track takes a theatrical turn towards the end with a poignant soaring verse that hears her belt, “Take away the trust, take away the money, take away the love, what’s underneath it all?”
GISELLE’s solo ‘Tornado’ is a flirty English language R&B bop with a breezy tropical vibe, which she co-wrote and co-composed with Shintaro Yasuda (Ariana Grande’s “eternal sunshine”). “I make your mind go tornado, passin’ you by it go slo mo… maybe we can intertwine,” she sings before landing a dance break designed to whip up concert goers.
KARINA’s ‘Good Stuff’ channels main character energy over a rubbery hip-hop dance beat, with lyrics like “I don’t need the hype, I’m one of a kind… and if KARINA said to do it, then you do it honey”. The track serves as an addictive follow up to her 2024 viral hit ‘UP’, which peaked at No.2 on the Korean singles chart and clocked up over 155 million Spotify plays.
2025 has seen aespa take big swings to expand their sonic universe – and it has paid off. The single ‘Dirty Work’ and sixth mini album ‘Rich Man’ both became back-to-back million-sellers. “Rich Man” rocketed onto the US Billboard 200 at No. 14, the highest charting new entry of that week. It marked aespa’s seventh Top 50 entry on the Billboard 200 and their highest ranking since “Girls” peaked at No. 3 and “My World” at No.9. The release hit the Top 10 on iTunes Top Albums chart in 29 regions worldwide. The action-packed music video for ‘Rich Man’ racked up 30 million views in just 12 days, while a quick succession of dance remixes including an English and Sevdaliza versions of the track ensured ‘Rich Man’’s omnipresence.
