ELYANNA RELEASES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “GHAZALI”
Global pop artist Elyanna releases her new single, “GHAZALI”, a song inspired by the form of a traditional wedding chant and reimagined as an empowering declaration of independence, self-love, and finding happiness on her own terms. Drawing from elements of her culture and traditions, Elyanna transforms the familiar form into a chant that shifts the narrative, placing her own voice and autonomy at its center. First previewed live in September 2025 at Wembley Stadium, where she performed the song while opening for Coldplay, “GHAZALI” has been highly anticipated since its first introduction to audiences. Produced by her brother, Feras, the track pairs rhythmic production with backing vocals from family members and close friends, drawing inspiration from the sun and her travels, including time spent in India with Coldplay. Its title takes its name from the Arabic word for “gazelle,” a symbol of beauty and grace.
The accompanying video expands on the song’s central metaphor, following a young woman who sees herself in a gazelle and reimagines the traditional hunter-and-hunted dynamic, ultimately reclaiming her power and agency. Conceived and creatively directed by Feras, who brought in Naghmeh Pour to direct, the visual was filmed at the Uzbekistan studio of Franco-Uzbek painters Daima and Maxime Vardanian. Their colorful artwork and scenography, alongside traditional dance, shape a theatrical, fairytale-like world that reflects the song’s themes of freedom and self-determination. Choreographed by Charm La’Donna, with Natsuki Miya as associate choreographer, the movement brings the song’s multicultural influences and expressive spirit to life, an ongoing thread throughout the album.
Set in Uzbekistan, at the heart of the historic Silk Road, the video brings Elyanna’s Palestinian-Chilean perspective into conversation with the region’s rich traditions of Arab, Central and East Asian culture, music and poetry. The setting becomes more than a backdrop, reflecting the album’s broader embrace of cultural exchange and the ways different traditions can inform and enrich one another.
Elyanna first made history as the first artist to perform in Arabic at Coachella and released her debut album, Woledto, in 2024, earning Best Arab Indie Artist and Best New Artist at the Billboard Arabia Music Awards. Praised by Pitchfork for its “energizing new sound with deep respect for tradition,” the album introduced her to a wider international audience, with features in DAZED, The Guardian, Interview Magazine, Rolling Stone, and Teen Vogue, among others. She has since appeared on the covers of VOGUE Arabia, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, and HOMMEGirls, while making her television debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Beyond her solo work, Elyanna has collaborated with Coldplay, Little Simz, and TINI on “WE PRAY,” earning her first Billboard Hot 100 entry. She joined Coldplay on their Music of the Spheres World Tour, performing with the band on Saturday Night Live and the TODAY Show, and later collaborated with Burna Boy on a remix. Most recently, she teamed up with Jessie Reyez on “ILLUMINATE,” from the official FIFA World Cup 2026™ album. The track received coverage from The FADER and Billboard Canada, and its music video has surpassed 12 million views.
With “GHAZALI,” Elyanna continues to expand the scope of contemporary Arabic pop, bringing together the sounds, traditions, and personal experiences that inform her artistry. Grounded in her Palestinian and Chilean heritage while shaped by a global perspective, she is building a musical language that moves fluidly across cultures.
