Alexander James McLean to Perform “Can’t Love You Anymore” Tomorrow On The 3rd Hour of TODAY!

New LP “My Name Is Alexander James” Out Now

Alexander James McLean, AJ McLean, New Music, Music, Singer, Songwriter

Multi-platinum recording artist Alexander James McLean — known to audiences worldwide as AJ McLean of the  Backstreet Boys — will appear on the TODAY Show (3rd Hour) tomorrow, Wednesday, January 15, for a very special live performance of “Can’t Love You Anymore” from his newly released LP, My Name Is Alexander James, available now on all platforms.

Tomorrow’s performance on TODAY marks a major moment for McLean as one of the first opportunities for audiences to experience the new music live with the full force of a seven-piece band, bringing the record to life on the iconic morning show. With big performance energy and a cinematic sound, “Can’t Love You Anymore” offers a vivid glimpse into this next era, making the segment a defining debut for him and “My Name Is Alexander James”.

After more than three decades as a defining voice in one of pop music’s most influential groups, McLean enters a new creative chapter under his full given name. “My Name Is Alexander James” reflects a more personal, introspective era — one rooted in honesty, growth, and creative independence. “This album is about removing the armor,” McLean shares. “AJ is the performer. Alexander James is the truth.”

The LP’s focus track, “Can’t Love You Anymore,” co-written with Teddy Swims and Rob Grimaldi (BTS Butter”, BLACKPINK, Teddy Swims), captures the tension between holding on and letting go. Additional highlights include “Flowers,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, a soulful meditation on presence, gratitude, and celebrating the people you love daily.

Bridging legacy and reinvention, “My Name Is Alexander James” introduces McLean not as the pop persona fans have known for decades, but as an artist creating without armor, expectation, or apology.
