“It’s been a dream to work with Lauren Dunn, Amazon Music, Breakwater Studios, and my team on this project. To have the opportunity to work with this stellar group and bring my story to life has been incredible,” shared Andress. “I’m excited for more folks to learn about my journey into the country music format and I hope my story can be encouraging to anyone who feels like an outsider.”
“A Lady Like That” reveals Ingrid Andress’ unique perspective on music and life. From writing her debut album her way and expanding beyond genre stereotypes to speaking her mind publicly, she walks and sings to her own beat. Despite not being able to tour last year, her single “More Hearts Than Mine” went #1 on the country charts, an extraordinary feat in 2020. Since its debut in April of 2019, “More Hearts Than Mine” has remained one of the most streamed singles by a female country artist on Amazon Music globally. The album was the highest streamed country debut album across services by a woman and garnered three GRAMMY nominations for Best New Artist, Best Country Song, and Best Country Album. In “A Lady Like That,” fans witness Ingrid reflecting on her life on the edge of her first GRAMMYs, riding every moment with her as she defies the odds and expectations of what being Lady Like really means.
Amazon Music listeners can also access a new, Amazon Original reimagined version of the album’s title track, “Lady Like,” featuring a beautiful orchestral arrangement, released last week. Produced by Margot, and arranged by Margot and Juan Villacrez, Andress’ new version was recorded with an all-woman orchestra. Customers can stream “Lady Like (Amazon Original)” only on all tiers of Amazon Music, including in Ultra HD via the Amazon Music HD tier.
“A Lady Like That” is the latest short film created by Amazon Music, diving into pivotal moments in an artists’ career. Past releases include: Mariah Carey is Christmas: The Story of “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Still Ill: 25 Years of the Beastie Boys’ Ill Communication, The Birth of Biggie: 25 Years of Ready to Die, Velocity with Kane Brown, The Making Of: “Faith” by Galantis and Dolly Parton, Breakthrough: Gabby Barrett, and more.
