Astrid S releases her third single this year, “Oh Emma” via Casablanca Records. Astrid S is now ready to take her fans on a personal journey back in time with “Oh Emma”. The song reflects on something many have experienced growing up – how close friendships change over time and sometimes fade completely. It embraces the nostalgia of looking back on good memories yet realizing that a chapter has closed.

“I’ve moved around a lot since I was 15, so I’ve had a lot of short friendships in my formative years, which has been difficult at times. Oh Emma is a song about growing apart. It happens to everyone – sometimes it just feels like people gradually disappear from your life without you noticing. One day you wake up and wonder what happened? It is nostalgic and reminiscent of the past. There are many changes you go through in life, but the ones that hurt the most are the ones you couldn’t predict.” – Astrid S

“Oh Emma” is a close, beautiful and vulnerable song, with a sound from Astrid S that countless listeners have fallen in love with over the years. The song was written in collaboration with JT Daly (K. Flay, Benson Boone, PVRIS), Emily Falvey (MacKenzie Porter) and Sean Van Vleet and produced by JT Daly.

Lyrically, Astrid has found new energy in her songwriting and is more playful than ever.  In her new music she uses driving metaphors to tell stories about falling in love, feelings of freedom, heartache, desire and friendship that ends. We stop by the petrol station for some casual line dancing. There is a strong feeling that this music, and Astrid herself, confidently plays with the pop genre and takes responsibility for her own destiny.
