BBYKOBE REPS DETROIT ON “RIP HUTCH” FT. G.T.
Visionary rapper/producer BBYKOBE teams up with Motor City rap vet G.T. to pay tribute to their city on “RIP HUTCH”, out now on Warner Records. The booming new single takes a more minimal sonic approach following BBYKOBE’s recent studio run, which includes working on three songs on Playboy Carti’s MUSIC, including “Rather Lie” featuring The Weeknd, not to mention the pair’s previous smash hit, “Timeless.”
“RIP HUTCH” is an assertive Midwest rap banger set to a hard beat and blessed with laidback bars. Providing some insight, BBYKOBE says about the song:
“‘RIP HUTCH’ is a portal to Detroit,” says BBYKOBE of his new single. “We on everybody’s mood board. We on everybody’s playlist. So at this point, I’m on what my city is on.”
Though his behind-the-scenes portfolio includes culture-shifting songs like Travis Scott’s “I KNOW ?” and “Like That” by Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, BBYKOBE has arrived in 2025 as a burgeoning new artist. Earlier this month, he shared his hypnotic debut single, “BBYGIRL,” a melodic track that doubled as a powerful showcase for his impressive vocal range and inimitably fluid performance style.
It’s a gift that BBYKOBE has been developing for years behind the scenes, working across groundbreaking albums like Scott’s UTOPIA, and pitching in on songs and projects from the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Don Toliver, Cash Cobain, Lil Wayne, and Roddy Ricch. Now, after crafting hits for others, BBYKOBE is rewriting the game for himself. Stay tuned for more fire.
