CAIN CULTO RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM CULTO
Art-pop auteur Cain Culto has released his long awaited debut full-length CULTO, the definitive distillation of the world he has been building since first emerging online in 2025. Bold and expansive, the album brings together the fractured identities, sonic extremes, and visionary pop instincts that define his work to date. At its core, CULTO is a record about having the courage to confront where you come from, reckon with what you’ve inherited, and decide who you want to become.
Raised in a Colombian-Nicaraguan household, Cain grew up between Florida and Kentucky, absorbing salsa, bluegrass, hip-hop, and evangelical culture. Breaking through the chrysalis of his religious upbringing, he emerged as a fearless DIY auteur, crafting singular music and visuals that fuse protest, satire, and undeniable pop hooks, yielding collaborations from a broadening spectrum of musical peers including Sudan Archives, Lido Pimienta, Snow tha Product, Peaches, Xiuhtezcatl, and beyond. His live show and following have followed suit, as demonstrated by the panoply of sold out shows on the tour for the album, which kicks off tonight at The Roxy – full dates below.
CULTO’s thirteen tracks embody the breadth of that personal journey. Opening with the “2 Wolves,” Culto establishes the album’s central duality, setting bluegrass pastoralism against menacing experimental production and visceral lyricism. Meanwhile, album closer “Born Again,” finds Culto at his most vulnerable. Confessional and expansive, the transcendent ballad captures the process of shedding the pain of going no contact with his family, coming out, and rebuilding his world on his own terms.
Throughout CULTO, Cain manipulates, distorts and strips back his voice to inhabit every facet of his identity. Appalachian folk textures, South American hand percussion, and electronic production give the album its unmistakable physicality, reflecting Culto’s own multitudes: devotional and irreverent, ancestral and forward-looking, rooted in tradition but unwilling to be contained by it. The result is a visionary debut that transforms personal rupture into mythology. CULTO establishes Cain Culto as an artist with a language and world entirely his own.
