The Adrienne Arsht Center (@arshtcenter) is set to welcome legendary Cuban pianist CHUCHO VALDÉS Y SU ROYAL QUARTET (@chuchovaldesmusic)  on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. in the Knight Concert Hall. This performance is part of the renowned Jazz Roots series, which celebrates the depth and diversity of jazz as a global genre.

Chucho Valdés, honored as a Jazz Master 2025 by the National Endowment for the Arts, returns to the Arsht in Miami with his latest album, Cuba & Beyond, a 2025 GRAMMY nominee for Best Latin Jazz Album. This highly anticipated concert features Valdés performing alongside his Royal Quartet, comprised of Horacio “El Negro” Hernández (drums), José Armando Gola (bass), and Roberto Jr. Vizcaíno (percussion). Together, these virtuosos bring the essence of Afro-Cuban jazz to life, seamlessly blending blues, funk, classical music, and African traditions into a signature sound.

This performance marks a homecoming for Valdés at the Arsht, a venue that has hosted pivotal moments in his illustrious career, including the Irakere 50 reunion concert in 2024 and the premiere of his celebrated suite La Creación in 2021. Now, Valdés returns to Miami to continue shaping his extraordinary musical legacy in a city that remains deeply connected to his artistry.

Tickets for Chucho Valdés and his Royal Quartet are priced from $40 to $135* and can be purchased at  arshtcenter.org or by calling the Arsht box office at (305) 949-6722. The Arsht is committed to accessibility, offering features such as accessible seating, complimentary assistive listening devices for all performances, and services including sign language interpretation, open captions, and audio descriptions for select shows to ensure an inclusive experience for all guests.

The 2024-2025 Jazz Roots season is presented by the Adrienne Arsht Center with the generous support of lead sponsor Baldwin Richardson Foods, along with additional contributions from PNC Bank, Alan and Diane Lieberman, and Steinway & Sons, the official piano of the Adrienne Arsht Center.
