Converse’s Run Star Trainer Elevates Best of Archive in a New Lifestyle Shoe

The Run Star Trainer, Converse’s new low-profile lifestyle shoe, is inspired by a diverse range of sports including running, volleyball, fencing, and tennis, all of which represent the brand’s rich athletic history.
The Run Star Trainer, built from scratch, is designed for the modern lifestyle, offering new styling options for those who appreciate versatility, self-expression, and comfort.
Drawing from nearly 20 heritage Converse designs, each created for their unique sports, the Run Star Trainer incorporates elements like the familiar gum outsole, a nod to the brand’s history in running and indoor track, and its tread pattern, an exaggerated take from the Chuck Taylor All Star.
The five striking colorways of the Run Star Trainer pay homage to historic Converse footwear, and the shoe’s final design and insignia were inspired by explorations of the brand’s classic Star Chevron logo.
The silhouette also incorporates modern influences, such as the Star logo from the heel of the Run Star Hike introduced in 2019, and a nylon, suede, and leather upper that adds a rich dimensionality. The shoe even draws inspiration from contemporary art forms like pottery.
This spirit of exploration has always been central to Converse’s mission, fostering ongoing experiments in color, fit, material, and proportion. The Run Star Trainer, unlike many other Converse offerings, synthesizes and modernizes elements of the brand’s DNA, showcasing the diversity of Converse’s sports history.
The Run Star Trainer, with its fresh approach to fit, form, and stance, joins a series of new Converse product launches, such as the De Luxe Wedge, Heel, and Squared, providing consumers with even more avenues for self-expression.

The Converse Run Star Trainer will be available worldwide at converse.com and selected retail stores from June 18.
